Little Fish (band)
British garage rock band from Oxford, active 2006–2012.
Little Fish, a British garage rock band, came together in Oxford in 2006. The core duo was vocalist and guitarist Julia "Juju" Sophie Heslop and drummer Neil "Nez" Greenaway. Their only studio album, *Baffled and Beat*, arrived in 2010, and they also put out several EPs.
The band built a following through constant touring. They played Glastonbury in 2007, and in 2008 signed with Custard Records, where label owner Linda Perry produced their debut. That same year, they performed at the Viper Room in Los Angeles and joined Supergrass for a European tour. 2009 saw them on the road with Spinnerette, Eagles of Death Metal, Juliette Lewis, and Alice in Chains. In 2010, they shared a bill with Hole in London and headlined their own tour in March. They also supported Them Crooked Vultures at the Royal Albert Hall for the Teenage Cancer Trust, and later that summer played a fourteen-date tour with Blondie and appeared at Sonisphere Festival. Three of their tracks—“Am I Crazy,” “Darling Dear,” and “Bang Bang”—became downloadable content for the game Rock Band.
At the end of 2010, Little Fish left Custard Records and began work on a new album with Oxford musician Gaz Coombes (ex-Supergrass). Their final show took place on 17 December 2012 at the Rotunda in Oxford. After the split, Heslop and Ben Walker formed a new band, Candy Says, in January 2013, recording a second album in their garage with original producer Rich Aitken.
The band’s lineup shifted over time. Core members were Heslop (vocals, lead guitar) and Greenaway (drums, percussion, 2006–2011). Later additions included Ben Walker (organ, 2010–2012), Elisa Zoot (vocals, percussion, 2012), and Mike Monaghan (drums, 2012).
Their discography includes the album *Baffled and Beat* (2010), the EPs *Darling Dear* (2009), *Fish Bowl Sessions* (2011), and *Garage Sessions Vol. II* (2012), plus the singles “Am I Crazy” (2010), “Whiplash” (2010), and “Wonderful” (2011).

Little Fish left Custard Records/Universal USA at the end of 2010 and began recording a new album with producer Gaz Coombes. They played their last show on 17 December 2012 at the Rotunda in Oxford.
