British psychedelic blues duo from Worcestershire.
Naked Remedy are a British duo from Worcestershire who play a blend of psychedelic blues. The band is currently made up of Dave Small on vocals and drums and Tom Callinswood on guitar and effects. In November 2010, they played at Forum Live, held at the LG Arena in Birmingham, just before Paul Weller’s main stage set.
The group came together after the end of AurA, when lead singer Dave Small, Tom Callinswood, Nav Sahota, and Jack Ryland-Smith began meeting regularly at local jam sessions. They found they could improvise and create music together for hours, and much of their reputation rests on the energy and spontaneity of their live shows.
In October 2009, Naked Remedy won Worcester’s Got Talent, taking home the first prize of £2,500. They recorded a four-track EP of original material, except for a cover of "You Got the Love." The band has also played for numerous local charities, including Wyrefest 2009 for The Proton Effect, Help For Heroes, Loaded 2010, Boozestock 2009, and a Help for Haiti fundraiser. They appeared live at Vanfest, the world’s largest VW Camper Van event, in 2010 and again in 2011. In 2012, they performed on the Jubilee stage at the annual Glastonbudget festival.
Individual band members have previously shared bills with Velvet Revolver, Status Quo, Jeff Healey, Walter Trout, Chicken Shack, Wishbone Ash, Hayseed Dixie, and Rose Hill Drive, and have had bookings at the Royal Albert Hall and Download Festival 2008. More recently, they supported Goldray, a group featuring Kenwyn House (of Reef) and Paul Winterhart (of Kula Shaker).
Naked Remedy have appeared on BBC Introducing with Andrew Marston. They also headlined the Hereford & Worcester Introducing Stage to kick off the Worcester Music Festival in August 2010.
Between live performances, the band recorded their debut self-titled album, which sold out within three months.
